I’m currently reading “The House” by Danielle Steel. I’m not much of a fan of hers, I’m more a fan of books that are related to the 1800’s and romance. This one takes the cake so far even though it’s not about the 1800’s, it’s related to the time. It’s about a woman who doesn’t want much or desire the finer things in life. She’s an estate/tax attorney and she befriends a client who spent his whole life building investments, but does nothing with his money.
He has lived in an 1830’s home, for over 80 years, that’s 30,000 square feet. However, he only occupies 1 bedroom that used to be a small portion of the servant quarters in the attic. He dies and she inherits $750,000 and 19 of his blood relatives, some of which he’s never met, inherit the rest of his fortuane totaling 10 million dollars a piece.
She decides to purchase the mansion he lived in and fix it up and that’s as far as I’ve gotten.
Seriously. WHY can’t that happen to ME?
Since I was 17 years old, my life path has never taken a turn towards any kind of money. It’s always been a struggle for me.
I plan on changing that very soon, but why is it that some people have all the luck?
It’s not fair. LOL
