Justice For Henry

It’s taken me a long time to write about this but its well overdue. Over a month ago I stumbled upon a blog and it has forever changed my life.

I was surfing blogs on WP and I saw the title “Justice For Henry”. It piqued my curiosity and upon reading the first paragraph, graciously written by a distraught mother who was not only working full time but was also at the time very pregnant and desperately praying for her teenage son to live after an “apparent” overdose.

After reading on, I came to the realization that not only had her son died, but he was beaten & murdered and the KCPD in Knox County, TN won’t do anything about it.

I’m not as good of a writer as Katie is, but to make a very long, sad story short…

Henry was a very bright, witty, talented, caring and handsome 18 year old child who was, at the time, hanging with the wrong crowd like most kids do and his mother knew what was going on but her hands were tied because he was 18.

One night, she got the dreaded phone call from the hospital that her son was admitted and had OD’ed and was in critical condition. Henry was hospitalized for 38 days, got a little better and then quickly went downhill and passed away.

While these rough days passed, Katie, Henry’s courageous mother, was getting bits and pieces and small clues of information that something wasn’t right and his death needed to be investigated. But no one would help.

Since May 31st 2010, the day Henry passed away until TODAY, almost ONE YEAR later, his death is still not being investigated and it is our duty, as mothers, sisters, brothers, fathers, friends and family, to get this case investigated so his family can get some closure and JUSTICE FOR HENRY.

PLEASE familiarize yourself with Henry’s story by visiting http://www.JusticeForHenry.com and after doing so, sign the petition Katie has created so something can be done and the people who are responsible for his death can be punished.

Do YOU know someone in YOUR family who OD’ed because of someone else giving your family member drugs? Don’t you think that drug dealer should be held accountable for the death of your family member?

I do too.

Sign the petition!

My dream is that one day soon there will be a law in EVERY state in the USA that holds the drug dealer accountable for the death of anyone they deal their drugs to.

And this law shall be called:

‘Henry’s Law’.
